Pneumothorax and bulla are both different entities, but you have mentioned both as same. Yes, but if some one has bulla in lung, it has some chances that it may rupture and lead to formation of a pneumothorax. So a person who has come to know about presence of bulla in lung should also know what are symptoms of pneumothorax, so that he can identify the situation and seek help immediately. A patient of pneumothorax report sudden onset of pain chest on the same side, and will start to have breathing difficulty. some patients may start feeling dizziness , and bluish discoloration of finger tips and tongue due to drop in BP and oxygen levels respectively. So you should be careful for these symptoms. Large Bullae causing problems of oxygenation of blood in lungs or compressing surrounding normal lungs can be operated and removed.
