Suggest Treatment For Plantar Fasciitis

I have plantar fasciitis and have taken therapy and am still seeing a podiatrist and taking anti-inflammatory medicine. The exercises are helping but not alleviating the pain. My toes on the right foot are curled enough to cause discomfort at the top of my shoes. What can I do?

Hello,

I read your message carefully and understood your problem.

Plantar fascitis is the inflammation of the plantar fascia, the ligament (flat band of tissue) that connects the heel bone to the toes. It is commonly following trauma/strain of the ankle.

There is no specific treatment for plantar fascitis. From what you are reporting, I can see that you are under therapy and you keep doing exercising. Your plantar fascitis looks a little bit improved although the pain is still there.

I advise you keep doing your conservatory treatment with anti-inflammatory drugs and foot exercising. Also, apply cold compresses on your heel and wear supportive footwear, and make sure to rest your legs as longer as you can.

To be successful, you must be patient and consistent. Surgery is rarely needed as most of the patient do not need it. Understand that it takes time till fully recovered.

If the conservative treatment is not effective surgery is an option that gives good result. Doctor will mention it to you if it will become necessary.

So, be patient and follow your doctor's advice rigorously.

Wish fast recovery!
