Suggest treatment for pin prick rash on face and arm

My 19 year old daughter has developed a pin prick type rash on her face (mostly right side) and on the inside of
her right arm. She also occasionally experiences a sharp pain in her lower back which resolves after an hour or so. Are these symptoms linked? What are the possible causes and treatments? She is otherwise healthy. HHS

Hi. Thanks for posting your concern at HCM

I would keep a possibility of either a viral exanthema or a drug induced rash, if it was preceded by a drug intake.

An oral antihistamine e.g cetrizine 10 mg once daily or loratadine 10mg once daily would help her symptomatically with the itch.

A topical soothing lotion e.g calamine can be applied 2-3 times daily and would work well for the kind of rash she has which is most likely part of viral exanthema Or a drug rash.

take care
regards

I have what I believe is an allergic reaction to my Christmas tree and whatever it was sprayed with. When I brought it home my face and arms were in contact wit the tree while putting it into the tree stand. By the next morning I had developed a rash on my face and arms. It is extremely itchy and my face is slightly puffy. I have been treating the itching with cortisone cream and Benadryl cream but the itch remains. I am wondering how long this might last and if I should see my doctor for some prednisone. Please help. I am getting quite frustrated. Thanks.

My 10 year old had a bump on the outer part of her vagina, close to pubic bone. Had a fever for 3 days, went to ER and they prescribed her with medicine for an abscess. Now she broke out in a rash and complained of burning while urinating. Noticed now she has a sore on the lower part of vagina which is why she is burning. What could these sores be from?

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...(To preface, my son has an egg allergy and has been unable to get a lot of the vaccines given to children at his age.) My 18 month old son has had a fever varying from 101 - 103 Monday thru Wednesday night. It has been controlled by alternating tylenol and ibuprofen. I took him last night to our after hour clinic to be sure it wasn t an ear infection. Ears looked fine, but his lymph nodes were swollen and his throat was red - Strep test came back negative. Said it was probably a virus. He woke up this morning with no fever, so I assumed the virus had taken it s course. However, this evening, I have noticed a rash on his belly, back and neck. they are small red bumps that aren t raised very much. They don t seem to be bothering him too much. I hate to take him to the doctor again if it s nothing, but I don t want to ignore something if it s potentially dangerous for him. Should we give him Benedryl? Should we take him to the ER tonight or wait to talk to my doctor in the morning?
