Suggest Treatment For Pimples On The Buttocks

I recently got a boil on my buttocks on Sunday. It seemed like a small pimple at the time, so I did nothing about it. On Monday, it still felt like a small pimple, so again, I did nothing about it. By Wednesday it came to a head, and by the end of the day a small amount of whitish yellowish pus came out. its been draining blood and pus ever since and it is now Saturday evening. I can t sit on that side or apply pressure at all. It has a stinging sensation. And it s purplish around it. How do I get rid of this on my own, without seeing a doctor?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome to HCM.
I understand that it must be very painful to have an abscess over the buttock area.
If I were your treating doctor,I recommend
-take tablet amoxycillin 500 mg thrice for 3-5 days (prescription drug mentioning adult dose)
-tablet aclofenac twice a day for 3 days for relieving pain.
-keep the area clean and dry.
- apply warm compress over area for 15-20 minutes,3-4 times in a day
-The abscess may drain by itself.Donot try to pierce it with any sharp object or press it.It may cause infection to worsen.
-If the abscess is bigger or does not heal,it will necessary to do a minor surgical procedure called incision and drainage under local anaesthesia.
Thanks and regards.
