Suggest Treatment For Persistent Running Nose Because Of Allergic Reaction

Dear Dr. For the last one month my left nose is blocked almost continuously and I have running nose. I have consulted a general physician and he prescribed a tablet for 30 days (name not remember) and Nezalast Spray & Nasivion S but no improvement. I was told it is due to some allergy.

Can you please tell me the cause and suggest a suitable medicine for permanent relief. My age is 55 and I am from Bangalore. Weight 79 Kgs and maintain good health.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns.

As per your complain continuously runny nose can be due to allergic reaction causing allergic rhinitis while continuously blocked left nostril can be due to sinus infection causing congestion..
I would suggest suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and he can also advise you investigations like Nasal Endoscopy or PNS view x ray of sinuses to rule out the exact cause of the problem and treat you accordingly..
He can advise you antibiotics, anti-inflammatory painkiller, decongestant,anti allergics and saline nasal irrigation, decongestant nasal sprays and steam inhalations..
Avoid chilled foods and air cooled atmosphere..
