I have had mouth ulcers going on 9 weeks. I have been the the ER two times and two different PC Dr twice. They have given me mouth swish and spit and oral ointments, Magic mouthwash, nothing has helped. I have lost 11 lbs in the past 9 weeks. Do you have any suggestions. They say they don t know what it is.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of persistent mouth ulcers which seems to be due to vitamin B12 and folic acid deficiency, due to excess intake of acidic food, low immunity or some underlying disease.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult oral pathologist for proper diagnosis and to find out the exact cause. As 9 week is a long duration so doctor may examine them physically and can take biopsy. Doctor may order complete blood profile

You should start multivitamin supplement along with warm saline rinses 2-3 times daily.

You should avoid hot and spicy food.

take diet rich in multivitamins and maintain complete oral hygiene.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
