Suggest Treatment For Persistent Migraine Headaches

my son is 24 years old and has suffered migraine headaches since he was nine. He also has memory problems that seem to be getting worse as the headaches become more frequent.(short term memory) (3 times a week at least with migraine), Its mostly the pain in the head. No blurry vision or numbness/weakness. Just severe pain. He has prescription migraine medicine that he takes as needed. Bottom line : I want to make sure there is nothing wrong with his brain that is causing this, so I have been trying to get him to go to a doctor with this concern. What specific test do you recommend he start out, i.e.: blood etc etc

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I suggest you to do some examinations to do the differential diagnosis.
I suggest a neurological examination and a complete blood count.
I also recommend some radiological examinations such as an X-ray and a MRI if needed.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
