Suggest Treatment For Persistent Low Grade Fever

My problem has been going on for 4 days. It started with stringy stools, pencil thin, and painful to pass. I continued to have severe pains across my lower stomach, above the pubic line, from hip to hip. Sometimes in the back, hip to hip. The stringy stool only lasted one full day. I increased my fiber intake thinking that might help. Starting 2 days ago I started running a low grade fever. Lowest was 100 highest was 102. I have more gas and it hurts really bad to pass it, but once I pass it, the pain is immediately gone. I eat healthy normally and have lost 33 pounds in the past several months. What do you think this could be?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Sounds to be acute disturbances in digestive enzymes, intestine motility with some sort of intestine infection, the low-grade fever supports the same.

There is a need of additional prescription of GI specific antibiotic (as Rifaximin or Metronidazole), probiotics, antipyretic and supportive measures to cure earliest.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel,
