Suggest Treatment For Persistent Knee Pain

I had an open iliotibial band release surgery. A window was made at the side of my knee and an elliptical piece was excised with my knee at 30deg. Pie crusting was also done. I am now 13 weeks post op and still have lateral knee pain but now at the joint line. Is this normal? Am I still healing even after 13 weeks? Thanks

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Consult your orthopaedician and plan for an MRI scan to look for any ligament or tendon involvement. As of now, you can take analgesics like acetaminophen or tramadol for pain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
