Suggest Treatment For Persistent Itchy Spot On The Calf

hello, it is Wednesday, and I was gardening last Saturday and I noticed an itchy spot on the back of my calf, not painful. On Sunday, I was in the shower shaving my legs and accidentally opened the skin over the spot - again, no pain. It bled alot, but we put neosporin and a band-aid on it. It is still not painful, but there seems to be excessive clear seeping - change the bandaid every hour or so as the pad gets wet, but still clear - doesn t even itch much. I feel fine, no muscle aches, nausea, etc.

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Hello,

As you explain the situation it might be an insect bite. I suggest you to talk with your doctor however. If you will not have fever pain or something else than no worries it will heal by itself.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Jolanda Nikolla, Pulmonologist
