Suggest Treatment For Persistent Fever In An Infant
High temp 8 monto old every 4-6 hours 101-104. Visited doctor last Tuesday: checked chest, ears, throat all clear. Suggested viral. This is now 6 days on and still fever. How long do I wait until I visit Doctor again. When at 99-100 playing happily. Wet nappies. Alert. When 102+ very uncomfortable and sleepy.
Understanding your concern. As per your query your infant has symptoms of persistent fever which seems to be due to viral infection which is making you prone for infection.
Need not to worry. It is a self limiting condition and it will take 5-7 days to resolve usually. I would suggest you to
- Apply wet cold sheets on your head to lower down body temperature.
- Take combination of antiviral drug along with anti-inflammatory drug.
Your symptoms will resolve in 4-5 days. If symptoms keeps on persisting visit pediatrician once and get some routine blood investigation done and start treatment accordingly.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
