Suggest Treatment For Persistent Dry Cough

I have had a bad cough for five days. Today the coughing no longer seemed to bring up mucous. At first just a dry cough but tonight there is some pink blood with the foam. I started taking amoxicillin last night. I have been using an albuterol (ProAir) inhaler, the most effective thing for controlling the cough and letting me rest. I have taken some Benzonatate but it does not seem to help. Over the counter Dextromorphan seems to help only a little. Is the blood a side effect of the antibiotic or maybe from too frequent use of the albuterol inhaler? Or something else?
