Suggest Treatment For Persistent Cough And Abdominal Pain

I ve had a bad cough for over a week now. Twice when I was coughing hard it felt like pins and needs were sticking in my stomach and back area. A day or so after that my left foot started tingling and feeling numb. It s been several days and I still have the tingly numb foot. Could this be a pinched nerve and if so do they heal on their own?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to to muscle strain. It can happen due to the cough. I suggest using an anti-inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen three times a day. I also suggest using warm compresses for local application.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
