Suggest Treatment For Persistent Constipation And Hemorrhoids

Hi. I am 27/f...I have a problem with my bm every single time. so ths has been going on for quite few years until I developed hemorrhoid..but my dr said..it is just swollen vessels.and not hemorrhoid..the problem is..I always have constipation and this makes the swollen veins become worst..ive been eating only leafy vegetables, fruits and fish..but the constipation keeps going on..only maybe once in a week the sto would be normal..due this constipation and swollen veins..my sphincter muscle hurts so bad..the opening would be very large.but d stool wont drop..I woukd have to rub and pat my back to smooth it out...I do not take pain killer or laxative to ease my bm but my dr suggest me to take healer supp to help me with both constipation and hemorrhoid.should I depend on d med forever? or is there anything else that I could do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
hi dear.
this is a common problem but sometimes is so embarrassing and painful.
for you the most important thing is softening your stool.
as long as hard stool continue your problem will not resolve.
that is why using stool softener(OTC products)and diet(drinking plenty of water and olive oil and vegetable and fibers) will help.
but as your doctor said using anti inflammatory medicine like voltaren or brufen is also a must, because you have swollen veins and this medicine will help.
finally dont forget sitz bath(sitting in hot water).
more than 80% of acute cases heals without surgery.
I find this answer helpful
