Suggest Treatment For Persistent Back Pain While On Medications

I am seeing pain mgtmt for back pain I have been given shots and an ablation of a nerve. the ablation was only partly eliminated. I still have severe muscle spasm along the belt line in my back.mri s have been done by 2 neurosergeons and nothing is seen to cause the problems.i can not take anti inflamatories because I have heart problems and they cause angina. lorzone does not work and tramadol/acetaminophen only gives little relief. if I attempt to carry something ie garbage to the dumpster the pain spasms are so bad I am frozen in place, could it be vascular?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

As per your history, it may be due to muscle sprain.

For further assessment you may require MRI back, nerve conduction studies after orthopedician consultation.

For pain you can take tablet acetaminophen. Apply diclofenac gel or ointment locally.

Heating pads also helps.

Avoid forward bending and squatting position.

Take proper rest.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shyam B. Kale, General & Family Physician
