Suggest Treatment For Penile Std

Yesterday I went for penial std swap I was fine when I pee. But after the swap I felt like my urethra was sort of giving me a discomfort. Went to pee once I got home and suddenly it starting hurting when I pee really bad. Call doctor and he said that it's inflammation on my urethra but I'm asking my self if there was inflammation before the swap why didn't he tell me , before swap I gave a urine sample wouldn't he notice right away if had inflammation on urethra.,, it hurts to pee . Why?
