Suggest Treatment For Painful Scratch On Coccyx Area
Hello, doctor, my name is Richard Lemen, I m 18 years old, and I m roughly 160 pounds. I have a bit of a concern, with a scratch, or what even looks like a puncture wound, or hole, right where my coccyx is. It burns, and stings, whenever I pass gas, and sit down, and I m afraid to use the bathroom, because my anus burns, whenever I attempt to do so. It seems a bit swollen, and it s definitely red. It s been like this for 2-3 days now, and it hasn t gotten worse, or better, but I noticed, when I used the bathroom those 2-3 days ago, a piece of skin, of clump of blood came off, and it hurt, after I wiped, and I thought nothing of it. When I saw it, I stopped sitting down, and kept it clean, as mush as I could. I d greatly appreciate your help, thanks.

2.Puncture wound / hole at the region of coccyx, gas passes - this looks like there is a communication with the anus.
3.It needs immediate action - treatment in this case is operative.
4.Its not simple scratch what you are thinking of - book an appointment as soon as possible and get examined.
5.Fistulogram / sonogram with contrast will be the investigation to elaborate the communication with anus.
6.MRI is good to delineate the anatomical differentiation.

This is likely to be a pilonidal sinus. This is a small hole or tunnel in the skin. It may have become infected which is why it is painful. The treatment, in the first instance, is antibiotics. Continue to keep the area clean and dry and, if possible, free from hair.
I suggest you see your doctor for examination.
