Suggest Treatment For Painful Rashes In The Peritoneum In An 81-year-old

I am an 81 year old woman and not sexually active. For the second time in a month I have a painful rash in the peritoneum. The first time, my urologist gave me a salve. I don t think it worked. I used an antiseptic salve Germolene from the UK and also Vagisil powder. It went away but has come back. I am using Vagisil anti-itch cream but results are temporary and it is not curing it.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The first thing you need to do is to rule out the possibility of hyper glycemia could be due to diabetes, and it is the fungal infection very likely local application of antifungal with steroid will helps a lot and prior to this get done the plasma glucose test.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
