Suggest Treatment For Painful Lump Between The Temple And The Ear

I woke up tonight with a small lump between my left temple and ear (closer to the ear). It is not on the surface but seems to almost be sitting right near the ear. It hurts and only noticeable by the touch and the uncomfortable feeling/throbbing. You can t see the lump as much as you can feel it. I do not have other symptoms such as a cold, known ear infection, etc. What is this??

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it can be a Hair follicle Infection or a boil or furuncle..
It can also be due to inflammation caused by bug bite due to allergic reaction to the toxinous chemical present in the bug sting..
Nothing to worry, you can apply a Triple Antibiotic Ointment over it, take painkiller like Tylenol or Aleve if there is pain..
Do cold compresses..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
