Suggest Treatment For Painful Blisters On Back With History Of Having Shingles Outbreak

I am on my second outbreak of shingles. First time was on my face and went away very quickly since it blistered and I went to the doctor right away. This time, it was on my back and I thought something bit me since no blisters ever formed. I am over the pain part, never had blisters but the rash is still there after a little over 8 weeks and does not seem to be going away. Is that normal and is there anything I can do to make it go away? I am afraid of it flaring up again. It has done that once since I got better. Only for a day but scares me. Rash just won t clear up this time.
