Suggest treatment for painful and swollen lymph node

I am a 21 y/0 Male. I have a painful and swollen what I think is a lymph node under my right jaw line. I have no fever or anything that would cause it to swell. I heard that it may be an enlarged submandibular salivary gland but I'm not sure. I drank two 16 ounch monsters and I'm wondering if this caused it.. it only happend after I was halfway through the second monster drink. I work all night and felt it about an hour ago.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand..

As per your complain swollen and painful structure under the jaw can be due to two reasons:
1. It can be due to a swollen lymph node secondary to infection..
2. It can also be due to obstruction in the duct of the submandibular salivary gland or due to infection in the gland..
You should get it confirmed by consulting an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation can help in diagnosis..
You can also be advised to get investigations done like x ray or MRI of the gland and treatment can be planned accordingly..
As of now you can do alternate warm and cool compresses over the swelling and take Ibuprofen for pain..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.

The feeling in increased when I swallow or press on my neck in the area. However, sometimes the pain a hard to handle and other times i can notice it and nothing is bad. It seems like a swollen lymph gland bit it can be painful when touching and swallowing. Why idea of what this is?

My face and neck are red, burning, numb and stiff, like my skin is tightened up. A rash has formed as well in both areas. My eyes are a little swallen as well. Also a little bit of itching. I know this is not from the sun. I think my saliva glands might be blocked. My mouth is always dry, not much saliva coming into my mouth. This might be causing my painful symptoms, not really sure.

I have been experiencing thick, bubbly, sticky saliva for many months now - following about two years of using hydrogen peroxide for a mouthwash. I ve seen two dentists and two oral surgeons; surgeons tested my salivary glands and concluded my saliva was normal. They could not diagnose my problem. Told me the saliva must thicken after it is released from the glands. and in my mouth...Both believed the hydrogen peroxide was not the cause. My only relief is when I m eating or chewing gum (xylotol). Is there any antidote, assuming it was the hydrogen peroxide that brought it on?

I am 56 yr old white female. Was having pain and swelling inthe submandibular lymph nods after eating associated with chronic infections of the lymph nods. Referred to a major medical center for treatment and I recently had Sialendoscopy and Dx with Sjournes Syndrome and told I would need Cortisone injections into the salivary glands every 3-4 months and then repeated Sialendoscopy yearly to reduce the scar tissue. I can't find any info about Cortisone injections into the salivary glands, any info would be most helpful to me.
