Suggest Treatment For Pain While Going Through IUD Treatment

I am 33, 260 lbs, female and 5 7 . When I wake up after sleeping for more than 5 hours or so, I have pain in my organs. I am not quite sure but I have an iud in which may be coinciding with the time these pains first started. Your advice is sought. Thank you!

Hello,

You have history of having an IUD, now you are experiencing pain that makes you uncomfortable. Pain with IUD is a side effect but it may be indicative of infection. You can take antacids or PPIs to ease the discomfort if its because of gastritis.

If you continue to get pain on urination, painful intercourse, vaginal discharge, irregular bleeding, etc., then you may need to get your IUD removed and go for some other contraceptive method that suits you better. You can take spasmol (spasmoproxyvon), one SOS when abdominal cramps. Get clinically examined by a gynae & get treated at the earliest.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
