Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I feel down the stairs and landed on my butt and back 2 weeks ago. My whole butt cheek was black and blue, but that has faded and moved down my leg. However I have a large lump on my cheek that doesn t seem to be going away. It feels like fat and fluid. Do you know what it is and how I can deal with it (i.e: make it go away)?
The bump/mass may be due to the formation of scar tissue/fibroid tissue from the trauma. This is a normal response to trauma especially if it was so extensive it caused discoloration of the entire butt cheek.
This area of fibroid tissue decreases with time but it can take weeks to months in some cases. The use of ant inflammatory agents, even if there is no pain, can sometimes help eg naproxen, ibuprofen.
I hope this helps
