Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I sneezed yesterday and immediately felt pain in my throat. I didn t take anything for it and just dealt with it. Just now i was eating and the middle of my throat felt like it cracked and had instant pain. It is very painful and hard to swallow but not like when i have a sore throat from a cold. There is a little pain when I breathe. What could be the problem and should this be looked at.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of pain in the throat which could be due to inflammation or irritation of throat due to bacterial infection and granular pharyngitis.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles. Maintain proper oral hygiene. avoid intake of acidic and sharp and spicy food and take course of antibiotic such as Amoxicillin and ant acids such as Omeprazole, Pantaprazole. Visit ENT specialist once and go for upper GI tract biopsy for proper diagnosis and start the treatment as per that. Gargle with antiseptic mouthwash such as Listerine to prevent bacterial accumulation.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
