Hi. Im a 38 y/o F. I m having pain in my lower left pelvic region with light pink spotting., just started a few hours ago. I also feel pain in my groin area. I had intercourse with my husband last night and it was pretty painful. My last menstrual cycle ended a few days ago. Should I be worried?

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello and welcome to HCM,
Pain in lower pelvic region with light pink spotting, pain in groin region and painful intercourse is suggestive of pelvic inflammatory disease (PID).
A consultation with a gynaecologist is required for clinical assessment, relevant investigations like ultrasound pelvic region and thus treatment of the problem can be done.
PID is caused by infections most commonly bacterial infections.
Antibiotic treatment is the treatment of choice for the infection.

Thanks and take care
