Suggest Treatment For Pain In The Ovary

I went to the ER on 7/28 r/t having left ovary pain. I had a CT scan done which was read and reported to me that it showed ovarian torsion with possible necrosis. I was sent by ambulance to another ER r/t the hospital that I was in is not equipped to handle female issues. The 2nd ER did an transvaginal ultrasound and they reported to me that it appeared that I had a ruptured ovarian cyst with some fluid in my pelvic cavity. However, they said that they did not see any evidence of torsion or issues with the blood supply to the ovary. They never looked at the CT scan that I took with me on a disk. My PMH is that I had by right ovary removed r/t recurrent cysts and my ovary was bleeding. I am unsure of what to do. The 2nd ER sent me home and told me to keep my appt on Tuesday with OB/GYN. They gave me Tramadol and told me to take that. No antibiotics, or anything. I have had a low grade fever since Thursday as well. Anything I should do? Still haviing some pretty significant ovarian pain.

Hi.. Ovarian torsion is really an emergency condition and needs immediate attention.
Most difficult situation in ovarian torsion is diagnosis it self. Though ultrasound may help to some extent but non of the tests are confirmatory and mostly its always a clinical diagnosis.
Often there are some risk factors for ovarian torsion like a dermoid cyst in ovary on enlarged ovary. As such torsion of normal ovary is not so common.
More over pain of ovarian torsion will not respond to any amount of analgesics, if your pain is reduced its probably not torsion.
