I am suffering from attacks severe cramp type pain in the solar plexus. The pain is so severe that it causes me to collapse, breathing becomes painful. I have had perhaps six of these attacks in the last 10 years the most recent being 14 days ago whilst on holiday when I was admitted to hospital, The pain subsided after about 6 hours I have previously been hospitalized about 5 times with the same problem and been given ECG tests etc and on every ocassion the results have been that it is not a heart problem . It is not heartburn or stomach pain it feels like a muscular cramp and the pain passes in about 6 hours The hospital have treated the symptom by giving me an intravenous drip with what i assume is a very strong pain killer.
