Suggest Treatment For Pain In Knee Radiating Down To Leg

I fell a few months ago and hurt outer above ankle area. I have intermitted pain in this area but mostly suffer from pain just below the knee radiating down the outer side of the leg. Should I have xray or is this something that will heal itself if left to repair? Pain seems worse last few days.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
first are you smoker ? your age ? it may be due to peripheral vascular disease or due to prolapsed intervertabral disc.. you should go for MRI of LS spine and Arterial Doplar to rule out cause of pain.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement Dr. Dr. Naveen Kumar Sharma's  Response
I think that this pain needs proper investigation. I would suggest you to get x ray of the knee and it needed than MRI examination also. these two tests will tell us if some thing can be done for this , if there is any cartilage injury or a meniscus injury than it can be tackled with arthroscopy. If there is nerve compression than it will need decompression.
