Suggest Treatment For Pain Due To Inflammation In Fractured Ribs

Hello, My mom was in a serious car accident 5 years ago that broke all her ribs on her left side, these being on top of multiple fractured bones throughout her body. She was 67 the day of her accident, is now 72. She is in chronic pain daily due to the inflammation on her left side due to her rib fractures. My mom has always been a strong women, never taking any kind of medication unless greatly needed. Seeing her in such pain is extremely hard to see, what can I suggest to her that will help reduce her pain?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Dear Sir/Madam,
Thanks for seeking help on your issue; I have gone through your symptoms, and in my opinion, persistent pain in the ribs could be coming from irritated nerves or tissue, or it can be an issue when the unhealed rib start hurting the chest tissue and cause pain, not it she has any difficulty in breathing, and seek consultation if the pain is too severe. getting an X Ray is the easiest way to find the status of the injured rib.
I hope I have been able to provide you with a satisfactory solution, if you want to clear any doubts about my opinion, feel free to contact.
Special note- Any medication prescribed needs to be taken after consultation with your personal doctor only.
Thanks
Dr. Narender Saini
