Suggest Treatment For Pain Behind Knee

I have pain at the inside back of the knee. I also have a very ugly vein there. If the pain was caused by a blood clot would it hurt if I touched the vein. It does not hurt if I touch the vein or the flesh there so I have assumed it is a meniscus strain. Could it be a blood clot?
