Suggest Treatment For Pain And Stiffness After Knee Replacement Surgery

My husband is 2 weeks post total knee replacement without the use of com. He had half of the staples removed yesterday and the remainder next week. He is still in a lot of pain and stiffness. He goes to PT 3 times a week. He is getting knots in his butt that make it difficult to sit long. He is more comfortable in the bed. Is this normal?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi there.

This may be due to the soft tissue swelling after surgery which is normal. Continue mobilisation and walking as per the protocol suggested by the Doctor. Keep the limb elevated for the swelling to drain faster and early recovery.
