Suggest Treatment For Pain And Numbness In The Lower Leg

I have numbness in my feet and pain in my lower legs. The pain in the legs is mostly in the lower legs but does go up the legs as well. I cannot straighten my right leg without severe pain. I have had several test and they have ruled out Diabetes so not sure what it is I have lost a lot of weight in the last 5 years.P

Hello,

Pain and numbness in the lower limbs can arise commonly due to a lumbosacral sponylosis causing compression of the nerve roots.

Did you have history of lifting something heavy? Any history of tuberculosis in the past?

Since you have mentioned that you cannot straighten you right lower limb without pain, I would suggest you to first go for a X ray (lumbosacral spine - AP and lateral view).

If need me an MRI of the Lumbosacral spine may be needed with some other tests. A vitamin B12 assay may be helpful.

If the pain is due to the above reason then the conventional painkillers wont help. I would suggest you to get in touch with an orthopaedic surgeon or a neurologist for further work up.
