Hello,
Using key-hole surgery, it is possible to reduce the hospital stay to a minimum period and also accelerate the recovery phase post-operatively. If your doctor feels that you need to undergo surgery, it is better to undergo the procedure as soon as possible. If the ovarian cysts increase in size, a laparotomy may be needed as access is restricted in a key-hole procedure. Usually ovarian cysts of smaller size are kept under observation while larger cysts are treated. You may need rest for 2-3 weeks and do not start heavy work straight away. Hope this helps.
