Suggest Treatment For Ovarian Cyst

hye I am a female 19 years old got to knew today that on my left ovary a type of cyst appears the size of 8.68 is this a serious matter.? a doctor whom I met today said that it may reqiuired opreation. but I did reserch on internet so I find that it is common and its disapeare in few months. plz help me.

Hello

Your finding suggests large left ovarian cyst.
It is right that simple ovarian cysts may regress with time (usually within 5-6 months).
As cysts is large in your case,chances of regression is less.However,you can have follow up ultrasound.
It may require surgical intervention if there is pain,infection,increase in size etc.
Tumour markers like CA-125 should also be assessed.
At present,I only advise for follow up ultrasound if it is asymptomatic.
If findings persists then you may need surgery.
