Suggest Treatment For Osteoarthritis While On Insulin

hi... i have got a 90 years old gran fater who is hypertentive and diabetic for 15 and 18 years respectively. he is taking amylodopin 10mg daily and insulin 14 unit. before 2 month he was diagnosed with osteoarthritis and he was prescribed a medication that i dont remember wright now and a physiotherapy for 15 days!! he has finished all of it and now the doctor prescribed meloxicam 15mg should i by for it?? he has lost his left eye because of the diabetic complication and he is on treatment/ lucentis/ for his wright eye for the diagnosis of diabetic macular edema!! so do any of you recommend any on this??I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR YOUR opinion!!!

Hello, 

I have studied your case. 

With co morbidities I will suggest to continue home exercises and knee brace support.

Till time continue knee Range of motion exercise, active and against resistance.
Strengthening Exercises: Do quadriceps strengthening static exercises, Straight leg raises, hip adduction and abduction, ¼ and/or ½ squats
Active assisted ROM stretching, emphasizing full knee extension (flexion to tolerance).

Physiotherapy like ultrasound and TENS may help you.
