Suggest Treatment For Oral Secretions During Night And Cold

Hi, I have quit smoking already for the last 7 months, but I am still having oral secretions in the middle of sleep and when I wake up. It is like I have to deal with cold 365 days a year, as I can catch cold very easily if I have some sort of a cold drink. If I just rub my nose or touch it harder, will start with a flow of sneezes. I was told I have a deviated septum to a little degree. Is this in any way related to the cold symptoms and the oral secretions that I have on an every nightly basis?? If so, please advise me on the plan of action to curb these symptoms...

Hi,
You have explained your symptoms in detail and I think you are having Allergic rhinitis. "Rubbing the nose is followed by a series of sneezing" is typical of allergic mucosa of nose. And an allergic mucosa has a tendency to be wet and there will be cold for 365 days.
Allergy can be controlled by nasal sprays and antihistamines.Deviated septum could be a reason for impaired sinus drainage, but the correction of which won't help your running nose.
As soon as you begin the treatment, there will be drying up of secretions, which will reduce the night time secretions also.
I find this answer helpful
