Suggest Treatment For Obesity

Dear Doctor
my age : 29 years married from singapore
I am morbidly obese and my body weight is 120kg,i am already suffering from diabetes type 2 and BP. thyroid and other tests are normnal.My family doctor asked to go for bariatric surgery but im totally confused with a lot of surgical methodolgy to treat obesity which is the latest and please suggest me the most safe and efficient one.

I understand your concern.
Yes, there are some drugs available to reduce weight/obesity.

Weight loss medicines include orlistat, phentermine, lorcaserin, and phenteramine plus topiramate.

However, these drugs alone will never be effective.

You have to have a right combination of these drugs, diet and exercises along with other activities like Yoga.

You might also want to rule out any cause of Obesity like Hypothyroidism or Diabetes.

Finally, if none of this helps, you may go for surgical intervention such as liposuction, gastric banding etc.

These days, sleeve-gastrectomy is quite popular with good results.
