Suggest Treatment For Numbness Of Knee And Feet

i am asking for my 65 yr old husband who has given up finding an answer. 6-7 yrs ago is skin started becoming starting with is back, next the groin area, then feet now numbness is creeping up to his knees..he says his feet feel like they have iron cables on the bottom pulling up to his calf muscles He very strong, good shape, not diabetic! still moves 100lb things at work in AK even at -20 needless to say he is grumpy, testerone is not increasing sensitivity at all..feels nothing, but the real worry is the numbness/iron cables running to his feet. hes had the nerve testing from knees to feet & they work. he does have scolosis with a 30 degree curve...not good regular chiropractor keeps the back pain down but does nothing for the feet....he also says it feels like his feet are plastic and hes walking on a roll of nickles...he takes b12 and it helped a little but its getting worse...any ideas at all? any direction to go heart palpatations started about 6 months ago...taking propole...something till they stop

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

I have studied your case.
Due to scoliosis there can be reduced disc space leading to spinal cord impingement
Due to compression of this nerve root there is pain in your knee and foot.

I will advise you to do MRI whole spine screening.
For these symptoms analgesic and neurotropic medication can be started.
Till time, avoid lifting weights, Sit with support to back. You can consult physiotherapist for help.
Physiotherapy like ultrasound and interferential therapy will give quick relief.
I will advise to check your vit B12 and vit D3 level.

If required epidural steroid will help in reducing pain.

Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
If you find this answer helpful do not hesitate to rate this answer at end of discussion.
Wishing her good health.

Take care.
