Suggest Treatment For Numbness And Tingling In Arms, Shoulders And Below Ribs

I have been experiencing numbness & tingling in my left arm all the way to my shoulder from the wrist. Combined with pain in my left shoulder, center of my chest and down between my breasts to under my ribs. It happens frequently and doesn t seem to be helped by any medications. (Advil, Naproxen, Tylonol) Sometimes it goes into the left side of my face. Please tell me what the possibilities are that it could be or treatment options.

Thank you for your query.
Would you please clarify a few things for me.
1) Are you over 40 yrs of age?
2) are you overweight?
3) do you smoke or drink?
4)do you have diabetes, hypertension, high lipid levels or thyroid disease?
5) do you have a sedentary lifestyles?
6) have you experienced any palpitations, dizziness, chest pain or headaches?
7) are your symptoms associated with perspiration?

Based on your symptoms, I would like to rule out heart disease( angina - pain due to compromised blood flow)
Numbness of your arms could be associated with cervical spondylosis as well.

Your answers to the above question will pave a clearer path towards the diagnosis.

Any chest pain, no matter your age or health status, should be investigated immediately especially if it recurrent and associated with other symptoms.

I strongly recommend visiting your physician for a cardiac and neurological work up.
If in the meantime , it recurs again or with more severity and additonal symptoms, visit the ER.

Take someone along. Expect to have some blood tests, an ECG, ECHO, X-rays and continuous cardiac monitoring.
If you feel dizzy or have chest pains, please sit down, ask for help.

Hope this helps and please get back to us if you need further clarification.
wish you good health
