My daughter is 11 and has 7 bloody noses in the past 3 day. They start out of no where. ( she not picking her nose ) She says she does not have a headache no lightheadedness. She seems to be fine just tired of having bloody noses. My question do I need to take her to the doctor.

hi....welcome to healthcare magic..hope I answer your querries and be helpful to you...
most of the bleeding per nose in childhood is idiopathic-with unknown etiology.second most common cause is nose picking which you might not be aware of...however if the bleeding is not too profuse you need not worry as she is a female....just during the active bleed, pinch her nose for 5 mins and apply cold compresses...jus for precaution sake cut her nails...don't allow her to go out in sun...avoid hot and dry atmosphere...start her with normal saline nose drops which will prevent crusting and drying....usually the bleeding is from little's area where blood vessles anastomose...it will take almost 3 weeks to heal....don't do nose rubbing...however I suggest once you take her to an ENT specialist and get her nasal examination done to look for the bleeding site...suppose there is nothing major, you should also get her blood examination done to rule out any bleeding disorders or coagulopathies which can manifest as epistaxsis...gud luck.
