Suggest Treatment For Nerve Damage From Bunion Surgery

I have nerve damage in both of my feet from a botched bunion surgery in the 80 s. I am 68 years old and as well as the nerve damage I have some arthritis in the joints of my toes also, making walking in malls or icy streets extremely painful. I do walk 3 miles (not all at once) and ride a Schwin Airdyne 5 miles almost every day. I wear Merrill Siren Sport II shoes inside and outside. Would ice or heat help this condition. I use Mineral Ice on my feet every night before bed.

Hi dear...You are nevertheless a very active person despite the injury that great!!!
Well ice can help sooth...but considering your age, I would say repeated applications of ice, wil actually clog the blood supply to both your feet .
Rather i would encourage you to apply modest heat, continue to wear the soft foot wear you are already wearing and continue the walks.....the best way to beat arthritis are to keep using those joints gently by walking....soaking your foot in warm water with a little salt or placing warm towels can rejuvenate your tired foot...
Have a modest balanced diet with lots of fruits and water ...rather than taking multivitamin pills.
And do keep your Blood pressure and sugar levels in check . As this can otherwise affect your foot and walking...
I hope this answers your query dear.
Take care
