Suggest Treatment For Neck Pain And Numbness In The Arms
I am a heathy 35 year old active female. I was recently in a car accident - hit head on at a high rate of speed. I have sustained neck pain and pain and numbness in my arms and hands since accident. After a few weeks of physical therapy my Dr decided to do a MRI. I don t understand the results. It shows I have a large posterior disc osteophyte complex larger left para central extending into into the left neural foramen. It effaces the subarachnoid space causing bilateral foraminal stenosis. Did my accident cause this? I never had any neck or arm issues prior to the accident.
Dear patient You have got disc prolapse of cervical disc. This has happened mostly due to accident. Prolapsed disc is causing narrowing of neural foramina and compression of cervical nerves. Compression of nerves leads to numbness of both upper limb. You mri report is incomplete. We have to assess the severity of compression which can be seen on mri. If there is severe compression of foramina and spinal canal surgery may be needed. Consult expert neurosurgeon nearby you and get you self examined and opined. All the best.
