Suggest Treatment For Nausea While On Medication For Congestive Heart Failure

My husband is on AMOXICILLIN post oral surgery. He has PHENERGAN for nausea but, it inhibits him from urinating properly. I've given him some peppermint tea and crackers for the nausea, . What else can he do to eliminate the nausea he has so he doesn't have to take the PHENERGAN? My husband is 65 years old WT 170 lb. He also takes medication for congestive heart failure.

Hello!

Welcome and tank you for asking on HCM!

I carefully passed through your question and would recommend taking metoclopramide instead of Phenergan.

This drug does not cause troubles with urination and is well tolerated in congestive heart failure.

Hope to have been helpful!

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri
