Suggest Treatment For Nausea And Vomiting Of Pills When Diagnosed With Esophagitis

I was diagnosed with esophagitis and have always had issues taking some pills with certain coatings. I start to produce heavy saliva and sometimes the pills I can throw up to get it out of my system. I took a Rite Aid Allergy & Congestion Relief pill which is a generic of Allegra D and now I m experiencing the same thing. I can brief and the pill made it down to my stomach but I can t seem to stop producing foamy flem and throwing it up a little at a time. Is there anything you can recommend to stop the nausea and do you know how long this pill will take to digest completely if I can t throw it up. I don t seem to be able to bring it up. I think its too far down and past my esophagus.

Hello,

if your symptoms are caused by gastro-esophageal-reflux-disease (GERD) then a prokinetic drug may help. Metoclopramide or Domperidone are such drugs. Make sure you contact your doctor before trying any drug because they do have their side effects and they may interact with other drugs and/or cause serious problems with cardiac arrhythmias. Both drugs are effective against nausea and may help the stomach empty its contents sooner (and thus reduce the reflux).

I hope I've answered your question. Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Kind Regards,
Dr Panagiotis Zografakis,
