Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, I am a 27 year old female, my SGPT is 221 and Gamma GT is 56. My hepatitus result was negative. I have never smoked or drank alcohol in my life. I do take Amstan 5/80 daily for my blood pressure. I have back pain and constant nausia.. dont feel like doing anything. What could be wrong?
I want to know what test you have undergone to rule out hepatitis.
There is elevated Liver enzymes in your case it may be due to - 1) Viral hepatitis. 2) Drug induced - Though valsartan & amlodepin (content of tab Amstan) . 3) NASH (Non Alcoholic Steato-Hepatitis) it is due to insulin resistance. Usually it presents in obese patient.
You need evaluation for elevated Liver enzymes. Following investigations helps in diagnosis - - Liver function test. - Ultrasonography of abdomen and pelvis for Liver. - Complete Blood Count. - Renal function test. - OGTT (Oral Glucose Tolerance Test) with insulin level. - Lipid Profile. - Urine examination. - Antibody test to rule out different types of Viral hepatitis.
You should avoid oily spicy food. If blood sugar levels are normal take adequate calories. Take multivitamin supplements.
Hope this helps you, if so do vote as helpful.
