Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain nasal polyps are non cancerous growths present inside the nostrils and can occur due to chronic sinus infection, chronic nasal infections, allergies, inflammation, asthma etc..

As your husband has chronic sinus infections, nasal polyp seems to be secondary to it in his case..
In case if he still has a sinus infection that is active he needs a course of antibiotics like Augmentin, anti-inflammatory painkillers like Advil or Aleve, decongestants oral like Phenylephrine as well as nasal like Xylometazoline, steam inhalations and use a humdifier in your room..

For polyps steroid nasal sprays and oral intake of steroids can help in shrinkage of the polyps as well as reduction in inflammation an swelling in the nose and sinuses can ease in breathing as well as regain of smell..
But in case if there is no improvement then surgical removal of the polyp is advisable..
As well as for sinus infection that recurs surgical drainage of the sinuses is done to relieve infection and avoid recurrences..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
