Suggest Treatment For Nasal Discharge, sore Throat And Cough

Hi, I have had a reoccurring sickness for the past 8 months. Sore throat, constant nasal discharge (dark yellow) and a persistent cough. This is 2 weeks sick and 2 weeks better since October. I have gone to my doctor every month and he gives me antibiotics, but it never goes away. I have 2 small grandchildren that seem to have a continuous cough. Please let me know who I can go to or what I can do to get rid of this infection. Thank you, Jill

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms could be caused by a chronic sinus infection. For this reason, I would recommend consulting with an ENT specialist for a physical exam and performing a sinus endoscopy, coupled with a sinus discharge bacterial culture. A longer period of time on antibiotics (months) may be needed. You should discuss with his doctor on the above tests.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
