I am really really scared right now and feel very alone. I am 19 years old and recently had an eye exam where I was told my myopia, which was already pretty bad, got "significantly worse". I can't remember what it was the last time I got an Rx 2 years ago, but now its at -7.50 and -8.50, which has been giving me terrible anxiety since I found out. My doctor didn't really answer my questions except to say that this maybe happened to me because I wasn't wearing my glasses(I broke them, but couldn't book an appointment right away). I am afraid I might have some terrible disease or something because no one in my family even wears glasses and my vision just gets worse and worse.I wear contacts now and have 20/20 vision with -6 in each eye, but even this worries me because some say contacts can speed up your myopic decline. Will it continue to decline so rapidly? Can I go legally blind eventually? And why might this be happening to me/are there any measure I can take to maybe slow this down? PLease help me! Thank you!
