Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
continue on paracetamol or acetaminophen or ibuprofen syrup every 8 hours to relieve the fever and pain
you can apply ice packs on the swollen glands
make sure your son drinks a plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration
stick to soft and easy swallowed food as soup, yogurt
avoid acidic or hard food
no need for antibiotics as mumps is caused by a virus
be careful as mumps is contagious for about 1 week following the diagnosis
