I am asthmatic and I have constant mucous in my throat - particularly bad in the morning. I have had this for a few years now and it is getting debilitating, interferring with my ability to speak clearly and comletely compromising my ability to sing. As a musician and lecturer this is very serious. Taking all the conventional medications for asthma - nasal spay. All to no avail. Any help out there? D.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of mucus in throat which is due to inflammation in the sinus or nasal lining. It is due to chronic upper respiratory tract infection in your body as well. Need not to worry much and you should consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated. Sometimes infection travels down and reaches focal cord and causes changes in tone of voice. Do steam inhalations and use a humidifier in your room. You should sleep with head slightly raised so that the sinus can easily clear off. You should take antibiotics like Augmentin or Azithromycin along with anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen and decongestant nasal sprays. You should take mucolytics like Ambroxol. Saline nasal spray can help in loosening the mucus and easy draining.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
